Dressing To Impress On Formal Nights

I personally love getting dressed up for formal nights, they’re the highlight of my cruise. I also like to make an effort to dress up on the normal evenings and I’ve genuinely gotten upset after missing an evening in the main dining room on past cruises.

This means I have to look for formal wear worthy of a head turn and I think I’ve found that with Roman Originals.

My thoughts…

Now, I couldn’t recommend something to you guys that I haven’t tried myself, so of course I had to give them a whirl! I chose a dress and a jumpsuit that I think are perfect for me on a formal night.

The Midnight Blue Sequin Embellished Dress

I chose this dress for it’s complete wow factor! Lets face it, when you’re dressing up on a cruise you dress to impress and like many of the items available from Roman Originals this dress WILL impress. I will be taking this dress with me for the 3-day MSC Bellissima naming ceremony event in March because I know I will find the time to wear it… however I am tempted by a few more numbers from the Roman Originals site so I may have to do a few outfit changes!

The Black Embroidered Mesh Floral Jumpsuit

I chose this gorgeous jumpsuit because I love the comfortable nature of jumpsuits and can’t resist a tapered leg as opposed to a boot-cut or flared number. You can’t appreciate the detail of the sequins from a picture, it really is beautifully made. The waist tie is perfectly positioned to show of my hips and it has pockets! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! This is the ultimate comfortable formal night outfit – 10/10

About Roman Originals

Family run and owned, Roman Originals have been around since 1957. The name Roman Originals derived from an inspiration of Italian fabrics and raw materials as well as the unique way in which over 1000 styles are merchandised annually. The core ranges include Daywear, Eveningwear, Workwear, Outerwear, Special Occasion Clothing as well as a comprehensive range of bespoke accessories and hats. In 1994 (the year I was born!) Roman Originals first hit the High Street. During the late 1990’s the company began opening its own stores in Outlet centres nationwide.

Their range now includes evening wear, wedding outfits, smart casual day wear, work wear, and holiday wear. I’ve even spotted some gorgeous outfits perfect for excursions and cruise day-wear and will be showing you some of those very soon!

  1. My go to formal night dress is from Roman. It is a proper ball gown, strapless, flared out from the waist with multiple petticoats stitched in to make the shape. Had it for years and cannot seem to find that ball gown shape anywhere, even Roman don’t do them anymore. It’s also black and white so covers me for those nights. I like the long dress that Roman have now, the sparkly ombré one. Not the right shape to carry it off though!
