Two days ago I shared my blog about a diet I started a week ago. I’ve chosen to do things my way and eat/do what I’m comfortable with. Here’s my week 1 update…
It’s been a week since I started my Low GI Diet and I’m proud and happy to announce I have lost A STONE, A WHOLE STONE!! I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw the scales. I weighed 12.8 stone post-baby and I’m now 11.8 😱😱😱 I suspect I’ve lost a lot of my water weight as you do at the start of most diets…. But still, it’s motivated me to really work hard at this and I’m excited to weigh myself again next week.
Foods been amazing this past week, perfect warm weather food like pasta salads, sweet potatoes, hallomi 😍 & SNICKERS! yep, snickers. I’ve not felt like I’ve missed out at all. I used to love a big bowl of cereal but most of them are full of sugar and not great for us, so I’ve switched to porridge and started adding half a lemons worth of zest and juice and let me tell you, it’s delicious, almost like a lemon tart for breakfast. YUM!
Roll on the next 7 days!
So this week’s POA (plan of action) is to eat clean & really focus on the exercise as I did have a couple of lazy days last week and I only have 23 days to go 😱
I’ve decided to invest in the GI Diet Book as I have gotten fed up of googling every single ingredient before I buy or cook something. I plan on sticking with the eating habits after the cruise so it’s a worthwhile investment in my eyes. Plus it’s better than paying out of the ears for tablets/shakes that may or may not work. (guilty!)
Upping the exercise is going to be tough for me, as I said in the last blog, I’ve never been a very active person so the little amount of squats and sit-ups I have been doing really wrecked my legs this past week. I’m going to attempt more walking around Rother Valley Country Park and just try to up my reps from 25 to 50.. wish me luck!
Just over 3 weeks to go until we cruise so I’ve still got another stone and a half I’d like to get rid of.
